Keto Cloud Bread
Prep Time: 15 minutes
Cook Time: 25 minutes
Servings: 6
Ingredients:
- 4 large eggs, separated
- 1/4 cup cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, melted (for greasing the baking sheet)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (optional, to taste)
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder (optional flavoring)
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and grease it with melted butter.
- In a large mixing bowl, separate the egg whites from the yolks. Be careful not to get any yolk into the whites, as it can affect the ability to whip them into stiff peaks.
- Add the softened cream cheese to the egg yolks and mix until smooth. You can use a hand mixer or a whisk for this step.
- In another clean, dry bowl, add the egg whites and cream of tartar. Using a stand mixer or hand mixer, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. This may take 3-5 minutes.
- Fold the whipped egg whites into the egg yolk and cream cheese mixture gently. Be careful not to deflate the egg whites too much; you want to maintain the airy texture.
- Spoon the mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, forming six even rounds. Use the back of the spoon to spread and shape each round.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until the cloud bread is golden brown and set.
- Optional: Sprinkle a pinch of salt or garlic powder on top of each cloud bread round for added flavor.
- Once done, remove from the oven and let the cloud bread cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes. After that, place them on a wire rack to cool entirely.
