  • Cook Time: 25 minutes
  • Servings: 4

Ingredients:

  • 1 large cauliflower head, separated into bite-sized florets
  • 8 oz diced ham
  • 2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika (optional)
  • (Optional) 1/4 teaspoon of red pepper flakes, crushed
  • Chopped fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Bring water to a boil in a big pot. Add the cauliflower florets and cook for 5-6 minutes or until they are just tender. Drain and set aside.
  3. Melt the butter over medium heat in a separate pan. Add the minced garlic and cook for about a minute until fragrant.
  4. Stir in the diced ham and cook until it’s slightly browned, which should take about 5 minutes.
  5. Add the cauliflower to the pan and gently stir to combine with the ham.
  6. In a medium-sized saucepan, heat the heavy cream and chicken broth over medium heat. Once it’s hot but not boiling, slowly whisk in the shredded cheddar cheese until it’s fully melted and the sauce is smooth.
  7. Season the cheese sauce with salt, black pepper, and optional paprika and crushed red pepper flakes for a bit of heat.
  8. Pour the cheese sauce over the cauliflower and ham mixture in the pan, ensuring that everything is evenly coated.
  9. Place the mixture in a 9×13-inch baking dish that has been buttered.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  11. Before serving, garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
