Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it with cooking spray or olive oil.
- Slice the avocados in half, remove the pits, and carefully scoop out the flesh with a spoon. Cut the avocado halves into thin slices, about 1/4 inch thick.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan cheese, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. To make a seasoned breadcrumb combination, combine all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl.
- Dip each avocado slice into the breadcrumb mixture, ensuring it’s coated evenly on both sides. Press the breadcrumbs onto the avocado slices to make them adhere.
- Place the coated avocado slices on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer, ensuring they are not touching each other. This will help them crisp up in the oven.
- Lightly spray the avocado slices with cooking spray or drizzle a small amount of olive oil over them. This will help them turn crispy during baking.
- Bake the avocado slices in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. To avoid them overcooking, keep an eye on them.
- Once done, remove the avocado chips from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes on the baking sheet.
- Serve the avocado chips while they are still warm. You can enjoy them plain or with your favorite dipping sauce, such as salsa, guacamole, or ranch dressing.
Additional Tips:
- Make sure your avocados are ripe but still firm for the best results.
- Seasoning can be adjusted to taste. Feel free to add more or less paprika, garlic powder, or any other spices you like.
- For a spicier version, you can add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili powder to the breadcrumb mixture.
- If you want a gluten-free option, use gluten-free breadcrumbs.
- These avocado chips are best enjoyed immediately to retain their crispiness.
These avocado chips are not only a tasty and crunchy snack but also a nutritious one. They are rich in healthy fats, fiber, and vitamins, making them a guilt-free alternative to traditional potato chips. Enjoy!
